Analysis and conclusion
1. Since the standardization of the NaOH was already completed by Mr. Lopez you can just get the info from the board. A standardization has to be conducted for each experiment so you will have to get the info prior to the lab. The concentration of the NaOH solution in mol NaOH/g soln was calculated by the following :
(mass of KHP) x 1 mol KHP/204 g KHP x 1 mol NaOH/1 mol KHP = ____ mol NaOH
2. Using the concentration of NaOH from Mr. Lopez determine the number of moles of acetic acid in each sample of the diluted vinegar that you titrated and convert to mole acetic acid per gram of dilute vinegar.
Mass of NaOH(aq) used X mol
NaOH g NaOH(aq) X 1 mol HC2H3O2 1mol
NaOH(aq) = mol
HC2H3O2
Do this for all three samples
3. To complete number 3 you can convert the conc. of dil vinegar in mol HC2H3O2/g dil HC2H3O2 to a density of the dilute vinegar by converting the mass of HC2H3O2 to mL.
For part be of #3 take the mass of solute and divide it by the mass of solution multiply by a 100%
