I don’t expect you to use my example, but you may think about how your measurements went. How many significant digits did you round your measurements to. Did you read the scale correctly? Was the water completely removed from the product? There are many different reasons why your experiment could have failed, because if you had more than a 10% difference you had to screw up somewhere.
